Scope of Work
Replace the existing paper based job assignment/dispatch
Implement the voice and data communications infrastructure in trucks to facilitate job-dispatch
Capture customer signature electronically and automate the data entry inside trucks
Provide geographical mapping and route analysis capabilities
Replace aging radio based communication between truck and base station
Solution
The solution being developed by HCL will use collaboration of diverse technologies like CDMA, WiFi (communications), embedded systems, GIS/GPS, Touch screen In-vehicle systems, Text to speech, CANbus etc.
The communication between the existing systems with the proposed system would be based on Java Message Service
A browser based interface was utilised for job dispatching, real time tracking, map rendering and drag and drop job assignments.
